Our activities
bp is one of the world’s largest producers of oil and gas. We produce around 2.3 million barrels of oil equivalent a day, from assets we operate and through joint ventures and technical partnerships.
Our upstream portfolio includes onshore, offshore and deepwater assets built across decades throughout the world. We specialise in exploration, major project delivery, drilling, deepwater operations and maximising production from mature giant fields.
Oil and gasOur activities
bp operates six refineries in the United States and Europe with the capacity to process up to 1.5 million barrels a day.
bp refineries produce fuels including gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and a small amount sustainable aviation fuel, and are closely integrated with our trading and logistics networks to enable reliable supply.
RefiningOur activities
bp provides energy to keep millions of customers moving every day, from drivers and professional fleets to the world’s biggest airlines.
As transport systems evolve, we also offer lower carbon alternatives in some markets, including on-the-go EV charging, biodiesel and sustainable aviation fuel, where demand is highest.

bp’s energy trading, logistics and shipping business buys, sells and transports energy across global markets.
Each year, we market billions of barrels of crude oil, refined products and natural gas, supported by a global shipping fleet of around 300 chartered and owned ships. Our trading activities help balance supply and demand, manage market volatility and ensure energy reaches customers reliably.
