EV charging
bp Pulse is bp’s global electric vehicle charging business, providing charging both for drivers of private vehicles and for commercial fleets. We focus on four core markets – the UK, US, Germany and China.
Bioenergy
We produce lower lifecycle emissions fuels from organic materials, including sugarcane, waste and residues.
In Brazil, bp bioenergy operates 11 sugarcane plants that produce ethanol, sugar and biopower, with capacity of around 50,000 barrels a day of ethanol equivalent.
In the US, our Archaea Energy business is a leading producer of renewable natural gas, and partners with landfill and farm owners to capture and use naturally recurring emissions from waste.
Renewable energy
Lightsource bp is one of the world’s leading solar developers and battery storage platforms, with assets across five continents. We also have a joint venture in offshore wind with JERA Nex.
Carbon capture and storage (CCS)
bp, together with partners, is developing CCS projects in the UK and Indonesia to help capture emissions from industries that are hard to decarbonise, such as power, hydrogen and heavy manufacturing.
Hydrogen
bp’s hydrogen developments focus mainly on green hydrogen, produced using renewable power, at bp refineries in Lingen, Germany and Castellón, Spain.
Together, these activities support bp’s disciplined approach to investing in lower carbon, alongside building our existing energy businesses.
