In 2025, bp’s social investments in the UK included initiatives focused on building capability for the future, wellbeing and working with partners on environmental sustainability. Alongside this, UK employees contributed time and skills through volunteering. Here’s a snapshot of that activity throughout the year.
bp’s social investment in UK communities
Across the UK, bp participates in a range of partnerships and programmes, including environmental and wellbeing initiatives and those that aim to build skills. Here are three examples of how we’re working with partners to support education, frontline workers and ecological restoration.

The Retail Trust
bp partners with The Retail Trust to support the wellbeing and safety of retail workers across the UK. By helping to fund accessible services and industry-wide initiatives, the partnership supports frontline retail workers, works to help tackle abuse and promotes more respectful working environments for retail staff and communities.

Tees River Trust
bp is a supporter of the Tees River Trust through funding for a four-year project (2024-2027) to help support the restoration of the ecology of the Tees Estuary. The project includes reintroducing native oysters, restoring seagrass beds and blue mussels and creating habitats for fish and invertebrates.

Energising Futures
We provide funding towards the Energising Futures programme, which is intended to help build UK energy skills through support for high-quality STEM education, offering free resources and training to educators. In 2025, almost 11,000 teachers across the UK accessed the platform.
