Sonya Adams was appointed executive vice president, people & culture in August 2026.

She joined bp in 2001 and has held a range of senior leadership roles across Asia Pacific, Europe and the UK, spanning downstream, finance and transformation. Most recently, she served as chief of staff to the CEO.
